Nail files are a must for any nail stylist. There are many types on the market, made from different materials and shapes. However, what you need to pay more attention to is the grading (or grain) of the file. Numerically defined - you can also see a bookmark in some files. 80, 100, 180 - what does it depend on? These numbers correspond to the number of grains per 1 cm2 of the file. The smaller the gradation - the thicker the granular.

According to the classification criterion, the files are distinguished:

  • coarse - grain 80 - used to remove the tips and other elements from the nail plate. They are mainly dedicated to the most experienced nail stylists, as they are relatively easy to damage.
  • medium grain - 100 grit - these are the most commonly selected classic files. They are used for arching natural nails, shaping extended nails, as well as for applying gel,
  • fine-grained - 180/240 grit - have many applications, they are very universal. They are ideal for filing edge, filling nails with acrylic or gel, as well as for shortening and sanding natural nails.
    polishers
  • gradation over 300 - we distinguish leveling polishes, giving shine and shine to natural nails. They are used to complete the manicure and make it perfectly refined and more beautiful.

When using nail files of various grains, it is worth remembering that first you use coarse grain and last - fine grain. Only this sequence is correct. If you have a dilemma in which nail files for investment, fine-grained files, 180/240 grit, are ideal for beginner nail stylist. They are flexible and can be used to perform almost all stages of a manicure. Also, remember that it is better to buy some better quality products than many "budget" products that will need to be replaced after a few uses.
